Become a better photographer
Taken by me for Week 25: Something New 2025
Featured Framer

Meet Rebecca.

Every so often a framer comes along and displays so much talent and story every week that it inspires all of us to do better. Rebecca’s submissions are a testament to her constant drive to learn and improve. It is clear that her photos start long before she presses that shutter button, with an eclectic mix of stylized editing and a deep visceral feel for storytelling. Rebecca’s photos deserve a thorough view each and every week.

But it’s only when you find out that she’s also a mom of five that you realize just how impressive her talent and work ethic are. This week marks Rebecca’s 230th frame.

Week 47: Sports Photography 2025

It was pretty hard to choose a single photo I am most proud of. So much of what I have created here across 52 frames gives me lots of pride in many ways. I selected this particular image because it was the first time I took myself way out of my comfort zone by creating a selfportrait in a busy, public space. It included lighting, and outfit change, and really silly antics in posing to get the perfect frame. From the initial concept to the execution, I was so happy that I pushed the boundaries of my comfort and made it happen.

One tip you’d like to share?

There is no such thing as a failed photo. Some weeks are better than others, and even if the result isn’t what you wanted you have learned something from the process to use and make adjustments to on the next one.

Why is 52Frames meaningful to you?

At first 52 Frames was about a simple commitment to myself, a routine I could keep up with and a bonus that it was something I loved to do, take photos! In my third full year I decided to push the standard and turn each week into a self portrait, not only did it improve my photography, it expanded my creativity, and helped me express myself in ways I never would have explored without this platform. 52Frames has contributed exponentially to my growth as an artist and more importantly as a person.

  1. Great shots. Portraiture is something I’ve never gotten into – I do it now and then for family and in my photography club, but not as a regular weekly or daily thing. Certainly Rebecca’s profile is inspiring and maybe I might consider to explore this genre more.

  2. I always look forward to seeing your weekly submission. Your photos are such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing a little bit of yourself with this community.

  3. Love your work Rebecca (the old and the new) and I agree with your sentiments about self portraits and 52 Frames. We are very lucky to have found this wonderful outlet.
I always look forward to your submissions every week too. ❤️
