Become a better photographer
Week 1: Self Portrait 2025
Featured Framer

Meet Daria.

The first thing that jumps out from Daria’s work is how vivid and bright it all is—quirky, thought-provoking, and full of energy. There’s always so much to look at in every frame, little details pulling you deeper the longer you linger. Daria’s strategy is clearly STORY. While she *could* go the route of simplicity, Daria often leans into building detail-driven stories, and it makes her photography such a delight to follow. This week marks Daria’s 347th frame in the project!

Your life in 30 words or less

On paper, I’m just your average middle-aged woman. Corporate job. Married. Girl mom. But with photography I can be whoever I want to be. Lifelong learner. Curious explorer. Reality bender. Imagination liberator.

Can you share 2 images, one from your past, and one more recent, that show your evolution as a photographer?

What has been your favorite style of shooting lately?

Some common themes in my work – a bit of fantasy, retro glamour, and a love letter to San Francisco.

What was the first photo you ever submitted to 52Frames?

How did you find out about 52Frames?

I heard about it from a friend I met through Instagram – Malani Jones

Week 48: Inspired by a Photographer (2021)

This was my first 52Frames album cover! I often do composites, but this one is actually a real (unalive) green stag beetle on the models lips. The ‘inspired by’ is one of my favorite challenges. I get to pay homage to some of my favorite artists, but add a twist that’s all my own.

One tip you’d like to share?

Let your inner weirdo call the shots.

Why is 52Frames meaningful to you?

52Frames is a promise that I made to myself to nurture my creative side. As a busy working mom, I don’t do many things that are just for me and my own enjoyment. 52Frames is one of those things.
