“Meeting Myself”
Why I liked it: I just love how Jessy is managing to reflect the natural light onto her reflection and take the self-portrait at the same time. There are so many reflections happening here. I can’t even make sense of it but I think that’s part of the point. By processing her overall shadows deep into underexposure, we lean into a more minimalistic scene that’s easier to see and more artistic in nature. This is one of my favorite photos in the album. It really makes you pause and appreciate how Jessy was able to create this.

“Nantes to Oudon”
Why I liked it: Neil’s photo is of such a lovely loud and chaotic scene, taken simply by putting his iPhone to the train window. A true testament that there is creativity everywhere. You just need to look a little harder. I think it would be better without the thick white framing but I absolutely adore this square crop and the oversaturated colors. Everything about this photo is creatively fantastic.

“My Reflections”
Why I liked it: Samantha’s photo is a testament to how the most beautiful things in life are the fleeting moments you can capture with a camera and how far a bit of intentional framing can go in creating what could have been a snapshot into a professional-looking photograph. That she somehow was able to take the photo with her in it as well is even more impressive.

“Roadside Reflection”
Why I liked it: Deke’s photo is everything I love in photography and in life. We have delicious blue hour, beautiful geometry, excellent symmetry. The scene is clear and clean and still seems like something out of an abstract movie, excellently captured.

“Reflection in the studio”
Why I liked it: David’s photo is such a clever concept. You never actually see the photographer and yet he even invested a whole light on set for himself. Of course that’s the point of the picture but the low-key setup really enhances this strangely calming painterly setup. An excellent exercise in lighting and creativity.
