Your life in 30 words or less

Connections, compassion, seeking beauty everywhere, and kindness guide me. I cherish my family, friends, and pup. Find me at the beach or hovering over a puddle in an unattractive pose.

Can you share 2 images, one from your past, and one more recent, that show your evolution as a photographer?

What has been your favorite style of shooting lately?

I love exploring different perspectives and finding unusual angles in common scenes. I’m drawn to reflective surfaces, color, details, symmetry, and interesting light. I love the treasure hunt of landing on any of these elements in unexpected places, and I’m always looking.

What was the first photo you ever submitted to 52Frames?

Taken at Poplar Beach for the theme “Hello from…”

What submission are you most proud of and why?

It embodies what I love about photography, and specifically phone photography, the ability to stop and appreciate my surroundings even when late for a flight. It captures elements of reflections, symmetry, color, and silhouette. With limited time and a limited number of shots, I had to be really strategic in positioning myself and waiting for the right moment to click, factoring in equal measures of planning, skill, and luck.

One tip you’d like to share?

Keep an eye out for even the smallest puddle, get your camera lens as close to the surface as possible, and watch an ordinary scene become extraordinary.

Why is 52Frames meaningful to you?

I love the creativity, the kindness, and the opportunity to connect with people all over the world. I have strengthened real-life friendships and have found kindred spirits in so many 52Framers I have never met in person but would love to one day. I love all the different perspectives each week brings.
