Your life in 30 words or less

I am a lover of nature, photography, cooking, gardening, family and life itself! There is nothing that makes me happier than a grandchild or two, who is willing to go out with me for photos. Creating memories to be treasured. I love the stories photographs can tell, today and for years to come.

Can you share 2 images, one from your past, and one more recent, that show your evolution as a photographer?

What has been your favorite style of shooting lately?

I am always drawn to a natural setting with backlighting and golden tones, and stories with warm fuzzy feelings. I am looking to add layers to my photographs, where I can have a foreground, middle and background that all add to the story. It gives that nestled look, like you are peeking into the frame.

What was the first photo you ever submitted to 52Frames?

Week 1: Self Portrait (2021)

How did you find out about 52Frames?

A friend from FB/Ginger Wick

What submission are you most proud of and why?

Week 52: Redo (2022)
Week 52: Redo (2022)

Heidi and I were returning from shooting my “redo” submission, and as we were coming home, I saw the bright colors forming in the sky. I started to think about redoing the redo, so we raced to get her in a dress and then ran across the field. The sun was setting fast, but we were able to get this shot. It was a special time for both of us!

One tip you’d like to share?

Never quit, never give up. Keep taking the shot, different angles, different settings. It’s as simple as a delete button 🙂

Why is 52Frames meaningful to you?

Oh my, where to begin…To walk among such talent and study other’s photographic journey has been such an inspiration to me. The weekly exercises are not always what I want to shoot, but they yield great growth and development. I am thankful for the community at 52 frames!
