Your life in 30 words or less

Passionate photographer, salsa dancer, world traveller and Blogger who speaks 3 languages and recently became a mum of a super cute baby boy. I love the sun, the ocean and everything below 25 degrees Celsius is way too cold for me… 😉

Can you share 2 images, one from your past, and one more recent, that shows your evolution as a photographer?

What has been your favorite style of shooting lately?

Right now it has to be quick shots, due to the fact that l have a 3 months old baby boy. I usually shoot with my iPhone and I try to get my photo during my normal day as I don’t have much time to set up a shot and work on it for hours. I always loved and still love architecture, vintage cars and macro. And last but not least Wabi Sabi textures.

What was the first photo you ever submitted to 52Frames?

How did you find out about 52Frames?

I have to admit it’s so long ago that I joined, I don’t even remember…

What submission are you most proud of and why?

49/2018: Windows

I have had the honor to be awarded Album Cover three times so far and this photo was my second album cover, so it is a special one. I love to go back to the same spot and have done so several times with various spots in Berlin for my submissions. This lookup is one of these spots that show up in my feed over and over again. I have used it twice for the „Edited by someone else“ week, but in this week back in 2018 I wanted to edit it myself.

And I will tell you a secret…Yosef knows already, but I haven’t mentioned it in my captures: the birds that you can see in the photos have been added in editing. I usually don’t do heavy editing, but I think in this case it made the difference and the photo more interesting.

One tip you’d like to share?

If you haven’t done so already please do yourself a favor and join a mini-group to get the best 52Frames experience! With several thousand people submitting each week it can feel a little bit overwhelming and you might feel a little lost in the crowd, but if you have a small group of Framers that give you feedback on your photos and you do the same for them…this changes the whole experience, trust me.

It allowed me to develop my love for photography in a supportive, creative, and unique space.

I found a community that have become close friends and becoming an admin has given me an additional outlet and another source of pride.

Why is 52Frames meaningful to you?

52Frames is so much more than just a photo each week! I am in my 8th year and it has become a part of my life by now. I remember each photo as if it were yesterday and my 52Frames submissions have become some kind of diary for me.

Over the years I had the pleasure to meet several Framers in person, nationally in Berlin and Germany but even internationally while traveling. So it’s not just a photo each week, it’s a community. It’s a community that doesn’t care about nations or religions or beliefs. It’s probably the most respectful community I know which is amazing considering how many different cultures are submitting each week.

  2. Wonderful Nadine. I love your photography and feel I’ve learnt so much about you through this blog. Thank you for sharing. I LOVED that cover photo of yours.

  3. So nice to meet you Nadine. You eye is amazing. The lines, the shapes, and the simplicity is beautiful and complex at the same time. It is always inspiring to see other styles and push myself to improve, revisit composition, and try harder to create beauty.
