Your life in 30 words or less
Educator. Photographer. Runner.
Introverted Extrovert.
Devoted to my passions and always learning and growing.
Can you share 2 images, one from your past, and one more recent, that shows your evolution as a photographer?
What has been your favorite style of shooting lately?
Right now, I am into capturing the scenes around me in NYC versus doing too many composed still-lifes.
I am always a fan of using natural light and thinking outside the box.
What was the first photo you ever submitted to 52Frames?
How did you find out about 52Frames?
My friend Jackie let me know about a photography group she saw on Facebook and knew I had to check it out.
What submission are you most proud of and why?
I had a really hard time picking a photo for this question! I am proud of every photo for a variety of reasons. In the week-to-week submitting, I know I had many “wow this is the best shot ever took” moments. As a collective look back, each speaks to me…that being said…
I settled on this shot. I had a blast getting this shot prepared, taken, and mostly cleaned up during a 45-minute break from Zoom teaching. Part of the pride is how I pulled it off single-handedly (kinda literally) during lockdown, another is for the message: Love is love, period.
The TL/DR? I like the simplicity of the shot but the magnitude of the message.
One tip you’d like to share?
Be true to your photography style and let it evolve and develop from there. Forcing a style won’t help you grow and you won’t feel the connection and passion for the art.
And…think outside the box!
Why is 52Frames meaningful to you?
It allowed me to develop my love for photography in a supportive, creative, and unique space.
I found a community that have become close friends and becoming an admin has given me an additional outlet and another source of pride.
Greetings kindred souls!! I am brand new here! I’m raving at the moment visiting friends & family around the USA. one of this friends recommended I join 52 Frames as a means to get back in the saddle….so I did! I only have my crappy iPhone with me but already clicking away for this week’s LEADING LINES.
Taking Tamar ‘s advice to heart, to home the innate style that I have within me and be the best new that I can be, rather than try to be like someone else!
I so enjoyed reading this and love your work, Tamar. Thanks for all you do for this community. Perhaps we’ll have an opportunity to meet in person when I’m in NYC in August. How fun would that be!?
Hey, Tamar! Good for you! You are an inspiration. Not only have I enjoyed following your photographic journey, but I am in awe of your dedication to 52 Frames and the time you invest in it. Do you actually still comment on every photo every week?!
Tamar, you are such an inspiration and I’ve loved reading about you and following your photography. I will never forget that you were perhaps my first ever 52frames comment and I was so grateful for your attention and kindness. Thank you for being such an amazing person 🥰
Lovely images, well done.
Hi Tamar! You’ve been an inspiration to me since my first week! You are a great supporter of framers and 52 Frames overall!
Hi Tamar – you certainly are creative! I joined 52 Frames a few years ago; kept up for a short while, but couldn’t come up with interesting images for their picked subjects. Well done!
I would love to see more of Tamar’s photos via her profile but the link doesn’t seem to work where the text says: “To view Tamar’s profile on 52Frames, click here:” Is there another way to find her profile (if you’re not a Patron)? Thanks. Jonathan
Whoops, thanks for reporting that! I’ve fixed it now! -Y
