Your life in 30 words or less
My life is fairly simple. If you can’t find me rowing or skating, I am probably taking pictures, playing with digital art or going on adventures with my family. My “real job” is a physical therapist and educator. If it involves being outside, getting sweaty or being stupid it is probably up my alley.
Can you share 2 images, one from your past, and one more recent, that shows your evolution as a photographer?
What has been your favorite style of shooting lately?
My shooting style really does change from week to week and it is one of the the best aspects of 52frames. I have so much fun trying to create realistic (or maybe surrealistic) scenes with toys and miniatures. I also have enjoyed trying to bring to life unusual and humorous self portraits. Trying something new whether that be an editing technique, a different way of composing a photo or just exploring a new place with my camera is definitely my favourite form.
What was the first photo you ever submitted to 52Frames?
How did you find out about 52Frames?
I stumbled upon the website a year earlier but wasn’t ready to give it a try for another full year. Now I wish I had never hesitated.
What submission are you most proud of and why?
Sybil has been a friend of mine now for almost 10 years. When the challenge of woman came up I knew I wanted to photograph her. We met at the boathouse the day before the remnants of hurricane hit our area. We had tried several shots but then decided to go down to the dock and try some shots using the clouds moving in. I really like how the low angle, her intense look and the impending storm all came together to capture her inner strength. She was so pleased with the photo that she is now using it as the author photograph for her upcoming book.
One tip you’d like to share?
My biggest tip would be to just go out play! Cameras, photoshop, lightroom all can be overwhelming but if you just let yourself relax and have fun you will learn so much. Watch videos, try new techniques and just push yourself to bring out your own inner artist.
Why is 52Frames meaningful to you?
52frames has been so influential in my life. I have learned so many new techniques, compositional styles and different photographic and artistic genres. It has truly allowed me to explore an aspect of life I would have never known. I look back over the last couple years of my photographs and can’t believe how much I have changed. When someone mentioned that my photograph had my signature style I never knew I had a style but I sure want to keep on trying to develop one.
You are my number one top and favourite photographer in 52 Frames. I love your style and your sense of humour and I aspire to be a story teller at your level.
I love your work and your honesty about your journey. Very inspiring to me, a photographer for a lot of years, but ways for me to be inspired by others and willing to just try something I have never done.
Keith, every week your art inspires me. I love your skill, style and humour. You are incredibly encouraging of me (and many others) which I greatly appreciate. I just wanted to take a moment to recognise you more publicly and show my respect and gratitude.

Keith, you are the most talented and enjoyable photographer I’ve seen on 52F. I love your styles and am inspired by your work. I’ve been slowly exploring the world of miniatures and self portraiture for a while now, but I lack confidence in those new areas. Your work encourages me to try more. Thanks for sharing!

There are so many talented and phenomenal artists on 52frames and I thank them for all the help and inspiration they give me each week.
Keith, you were my number one inspiration on 52frames when I got started (also in 2020, I am so glad I also stumbled on the web site and on your photos at the start of the pandemic). Your sheer talent coupled with your lovely humility has always impressed me greatly. The time you take to comment for the scores of people that follow you is more than commendable. I’m sure you are a beyond fantastic educator. Thank you!
