Your life in 30 words or less
Proud mama of 2 self-proclaimed ninja-warrior-robot-mermaid-Gryffindor princesses. Married my high-school boyfriend. Lover of tacos and ramen. I put hot sauce on everything!!! Spoon will forever be my favorite band. Wannabe interior decorator/ obsessive hobby photographer. Always composing images in my mind/insomniac….hmmmmm they might be related somehow. LOL
Can you share 2 images, one from your past, and one more recent, that shows your evolution as a photographer?
What has been your favorite style of shooting lately?
Okay so how bad is it that I had to Google my main style of shooting? I mean I know that I love to shoot my girls but it’s not really documentary style and I do enjoy portraits every once in a while too. I found the definition for Lifestyle photography and that fits me to a T. Would love to get more into freelensing. I love the dreamy effect.
What was the first photo you ever submitted to 52Frames?
How did you find out about 52Frames?
Actually my cousin started posting her submmissions on Facebook and I joined a few weeks later.
What submission are you most proud of and why?
Oh man so this image turned out better than I had actually envisioned in my head which rarely happens. I was greatly troubled by news headlines at the time and I had a story that I was trying to tell and I believe I achieved that. Also I found a great use for that unused mud mask in the back of my medicine cabinet. It works great for that muddy/dirty look. I have used it on everything. It’s actually time to order some more.
One tip you’d like to share?
Shoot what you love!! Oh man I wish I had something more original and profound, but it’s true.
Why is 52Frames meaningful to you?
Oh wow where do I start? I am SO grateful to have found this photo community! I have made life long friends who share my same passion for photography. I have documented my girls childhood from the times they were 1&2. Due to the weekly challenge themes it forced me to be creative and sorta felt like it gave me purpose. Consistency is definitely key.
Gotta be honest in the beginning I was kinda scared of the fancy camera my husband bought for me, with all its many buttons and menus…but now I know it quite well. In fact I think it’s about time for an upgrade..lol
52Frames has become a part of my life. My girls ask every week what my theme is.
It’s so cool to go back over the years and look at a photo and be immediately transported back in time, and because of the many different challenges it forced me to be creative so I’ve got a collection of some pretty cool shots.
It has pushed me outside of my comfort zone a few times. I credit 52Frames for helping me discover my passion for photography.
Once my Dorian was born the whole world looked different. I wanted to freeze and capture all those little moments and memories. I became a bit obsessive..hehe
I really do feel that it keeps me sane at times…and slightly crazy at others.
WOW this feels wordy. I’m gonna go now. It’s Saturday and I still don’t have my pic. Cheers!
Devin, your posts were the ones I noticed almost immediately upon joining 52Frames. They stood out among the others. You were the first of the framers I followed. I love your work and I believe you are going to have the most wonderful portfolio of your two girls as they grow. Keep on keeping on!
Oh man that means a ton to me Denise!! I always look forward to your comments each week. Think I’m in a bit of a creative rut at the moment, hoping to return soon. Yes I love having documented my girls childhood throughout the years. I have no pics from my childhood so wanted the opposite for my girls.
Thanks for sharing your story. Your photos are very inspirational.
Thanks so much Adele ❤️

Continue to capture those moments, Devin! I wish I had had this group when my girls were young. They are now 27 and 30 and I would love to have had this project to impact my “moments captured”. Thanks for sharing and great to get to know you a little!
Thanks a ton Dodie! I am so grateful to have found this group 🥰 love that it pushes me to pick up my camera and document on the regular. I don’t have any pics of my childhood. My girls will def not have that problem 😂
